FUNCIONES A DESARROLLAR: Using a quantitative approach and micro-level modelling, the candidate will assess housing-related practices of intergenerational support and their outcomes in our four selected country cases. The researcher will gather and prepare cross-country data, complemented by national datasets where needed. The goal of the research is to assess actual practices of intergenerational support between young adult and parental households, including direct support for housing as well as indirect/in-kind support across countries along with trends over time. Using micro-level regression modelling, the aim is to understand the importance of intra-family (in)direct support in terms of the life-course outcomes for younger households. Beyond classic parent-to-child flows of support, reverse child-to-parent dynamics will be examined where applicable and data allows, alongside wider networks of kinship (i.e., grandparents, aunts/uncles, siblings). The PostDoc aim is to reveal how intergenerational support is connected to other factors, particularly socioeconomic position and national contexts.
